Massimo Ranieri (name in art of Giovanni Calone), Italian pop singer, film and stage actor and show-business personality, was born in Naples on May 3, 1951.He was one of the most popular entertainers in Italy in the last three decades. Came to prominence by winning two editions of the Canzonissima song festival in 1970 and 1972. Won the San Remo Festival in 1988. He is a constant presence on Italian TV as singer and master of cermeonies. His film credits include La Sciantosa in which he co-starred with Anna Magnani.
