Hudson Valley Renegades are a minor league baseball team, affiliated with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. The team is a member of the New York - Penn League, a division of Class A. The Renegades play at Dutchess Stadium in the Town of Fishkill, New York. The Renegades, originally the Erie Sailors, moved to the Hudson Valley in 1994. The team was originally affiliated with the Texas Rangers, but became a member of the Devil Rays organization in 1996.The Hudson Valley welcomed the team with open arms. The Renegades have won over the fans with their family-oriented brand of minor league baseball. They combine exciting baseball with between-inning entertainment to keep all the fans interested. The public address announcer, Rick Zolzer, produces a running commentary of the game and just about anything else that is going on inside the stadium. Sounds effects accompany the play on the field, including the fan favorite, the car window breaking when a foul ball goes over the stadium roof into the parking lot. The mascots, Rookie and Renee Raccoon, are always willing to pose for pictures and direct the singing of Take Me Out to the Ball Game.Along with the family entertainment, the Renegades play some decent baseball as well. They won the New York - Penn League championship in 1999. The Hudson Valley organization has also produced major leaguers such as Scott Podsednik, Jorge Cantu, Ryan Dempster, Joe Kennedy, and Toby Hall. Currently, Dave Howard manages the 'Gades, as they are affectionately known
