David Richmond Gergen (born May 9, 1942) was a political consultant and presidential advisor during the Republican administrations of Nixon, Ford, and Reagan. He was also a campaign staffer for George H.W. Bush's 1980 presidential campaign. While remaining a Republican he also served as an advisor to Democratic President Bill Clinton.Mr. Gergen earned his bachelor's degree from Yale University in 1963 and his law degree from Harvard University in 1967.As of 2005 he serves as editor-at-large at U.S. News & World Report and a professor of public service and director of the Center for Public Leadership at the Kennedy School of Government. A native of Durham, North Carolina, David Gergen has also taught at Duke University, where he is now a Trustee. He received an honorary doctorate of law degree from Ball State University in 2005.One of the most infamous David Gergen moments caught on tape was when documentary filmmaker and radio show host Alex Jones interviewed him during the 2004 Republican National Convention for Jones' 2005 film Martial Law: 9/11 Rise of the Police State. During the interview, Jones asked Gergen about being a member of Bohemian Grove, which Gergen admitted to. However, when Jones informed Gergen that he and another person had infiltrated Bohemian Grove and filmed the "Cremation of Care" mock sacrifice ritual in front of the Moloch statue, Gergen accused Jones of using "ambush journalism" in his work. When Gergen started walking away, Jones asked Gergen something about Moloch, and Gergen replied "That's none of your damn business."However, in this very same ambush interview, Gergen openly admitted that he is a member of the select Bohemian Club along with other familiar political figures prominent in his professional curriculum, such as Nixon, Reagan, George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton. This interview can be viewed in Jones' movie, Martial Law: 9/11 Rise of the Police State
