Juan Manuel Márquez (born August 23, 1973, Mexico City, Mexico) is a Mexican boxer in the featherweight division. He defeated Manuel Medina to win the IBF title and Derrick Gainer to win the WBA title. He was recently stripped of his belts for failing to defend against the respective number one contenders of each organization. Mayweather-Marquez bout rescheduled for Sept. 19
Floyd Mayweather was cleared by doctors to fight Juan Manuel Marquez on Sept. 19 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The flamboyant former pound-for-pound king was originally scheduled to fight Marquez next month at the MGM Grand, but his return from a brief retirement was postponed after he damaged cartilage in his ribs while training two weeks ago.
