Juan Manuel Márquez (born August 23, 1973, Mexico City, Mexico) is a Mexican boxer in the featherweight division. He defeated Manuel Medina to win the IBF title and Derrick Gainer to win the WBA title. He was recently stripped of his belts for failing to defend against the respective number one contenders of each organization. His most recent loss came to Chris John of Indonesia for the WBA featherweight championship—a result that led to The Ring magazine's removal of Márquez from its pound-for-pound top 10 list.Juan Manuel Márquez (born August 23, 1973, Mexico City, Mexico) is a Mexican boxer in the featherweight division.
