Club Universidad Nacional, also known as Universidad, UNAM, or Pumas, is a Mexican professional football club, one of the most popular and most important in Mexico. This team is closely related to UNAM, the largest university in Mexico; however this team has fans all over the country. Pumas have always been an important producer of players that have been part of Mexico's National team.UNAM plays in the Primera División de México since 1962. The club has won the Mexican league five times, has been League Runner up 5 times also, and has won the 'Campeon de Campeones' trophy 2 times. The last time they won the Mexican league was in 2004. Hugo Sánchez, who won 5 times the Pichichi as top scorer in the Spanish League, become professional player in Pumas.
