San Antonio Rampage are an ice hockey team in the American Hockey League. They play in San Antonio, Texas, USA at the AT&T Center.//The Ramapage's story goes back as far as 2000 when the ground was broken for the SBC Center right next door to the Freeman Coliseum, which was occupied by the Central Hockey League's San Antonio Iguanas. The building was built primarily for the Spurs, however the team also envisioned bringing a hockey team into the building. Unfortunately, a falling out between the Spurs and the Iguanas forced the Spurs to look elsewhere for hockey. Originally partnering up with the Florida Panthers, the Spurs successfully brought the AHL to San Antonio. The Iguanas, unable to compete and unable to find a suitable home after their lease at the Coliseum expired, folded. The team was initially unveiled as the "Stampede" with the current logo sporting "STAMPEDE" in place of "RAMPAGE". The decision was made a few days later to switch to "Rampage".On June 30, 2005, the Rampage switched its affiliation from the Florida Panthers to the Phoenix Coyotes after the Coyotes bought the team from the Panthers. It is not known, however, if the team plans to change their colors to those of the parent club for the 2006-07 season
