A local civil rights leader, who headed the Urban League of Pittsburgh, has died. Arthur Edmunds, who is credited for calling for an end to violence in the 1960s, passed away at the age of 86.

Port Arthur man surrenders after three-hour standoff
A Port Arthur man who police say shot at his mother and refused to surrender to officers and a SWAT team for nearly three hours was arrested peacefully Sunday afternoon.

Man Barricades Himself in House, Port Arthur SWAT Called to the Scene
A standoff in Port Arthur has ended peacefully. Officer say they were called to a house near Dequeen and 13th in reference to domestic dispute. Police say a man shot a gun while sitting in the car with his mother and two young cousins.
