Thomas James Tune (born February 28, 1939) is a famous actor, dancer, singer, producer and choreographer. Tune is openly gay. [1]He was born in Wichita Falls, Texas and attended Lamar High School in Houston, Texas. At 6' 6½" (1.99 m) tall, his height is unusual for a dancer.He won nine Tony Awards, and was the only person in theatrical history to win the same two awards in two years, and the first to win in four categories. He had starred in several plays, including the movie version of Hello, Dolly!.He has an awards show named after him. The Tommy Tune Awards are the Tonys of high school theatre in Houston.When not performing he runs an art gallery in New York showing his own work.He is currently starring in the national tour of Dr. Dolittle which began in January of 2006
