Pete Yorn (b. July 27, 1974) is a Jewish American singer-songwriter and guitarist. He attended Montville High School in Montville, New Jersey, and was member of the Class of 1996 at Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York.Yorn started as a drummer who also played guitar. In 1990, he was drumming for his band in a high school talent contest when someone suggested he sing the Replacements song, "Talent Show." That went over so well, a competing band asked him to sing Neil Young’s "Rockin’ In the Free World" with them.He was first recognized when the Farrelly brothers picked "Strange Condition" for their film Me, Myself & Irene. His cover version of the Buzzcocks' song "Ever Fallen in Love" was also in the hit film Shrek 2.//Pete Yorn's debut album went gold on the strength of lead single, Life on a Chain, while his follow up went on to sell over 300,000 copies (with the song "Lose You" making an appearance in the film Orange County). His third album (due for release August 2006), entitled "Nightcrawler", is to complete his full 'day' trilogy, beginning with the morning (musicforthemorningafter), continuing with day (Day I Forgot) and ending with night (Nightcrawler)
