Atlantic City Surf are an Atlantic League baseball team based in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Since the 1998 season, they have played in the South Division of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, which is not affilitated with Major League Baseball.Prior to the founding of the Surf, Atlantic City had gone 66 years without professional baseball. The Bacharach Giants played in the Eastern Colored League from 1923 to the league's folding during the 1928 season, winning the league in 1926 and 1927. They continued in the American Negro League in 1929 and were independent until they folded as a professional team in 1932.The Surf won the first-ever Atlantic League championship in 1998./
