The Lovehammers are a Chicago based post-grunge band. Their lead singer is Marty Casey, who was a finalist on the television show Rock Star: INXS. Although Casey, fan-favorite, finished as the runner-up, he and his band, The Lovehammers were invited by Tim Farriss to be the opening act for INXS' 2006 World Tour.The Lovehammers were formed when Casey was 14, with friends Billy Sawilchik (guitarist), and brothers Bobby Kourelis (percussion) and Dino Kourelis (bassist). The band was originally called "Swinging Lovehammers" before changing their name simply to "Lovehammers" in 2000. For their self-titled major label debut (released January 24, 2006) they are known as "Marty Casey & Lovehammers."They have just finished opening for INXS on the first leg of their 2006 world tour, and are continuing to write new material for their next album and play local gigs still in the Chicago area.
