The Doors—formed in 1965 in Los Angeles—was a popular and influential American band.//Founded in 1965 in Los Angeles, California, after a meeting between UCLA film school students Jim Morrison and Ray Manzarek, "The Doors" became one of the premier acts of the late 1960s.
