The Ordinary Boys are an English Ska-pop group from Worthing, originally named Next in line. They have admitted their influences to be based largely on Mod Revival, Britpop and other notable 1980s bands, such as The Specials, Morrissey, and The Smiths; their name deriving from a Morrissey song. Despite their limited success in the British charts, their popularity has been growing, particularly due to media coverage that the lead singer, Samuel Preston, received when participating in Celebrity Big Brother UK.Samuel Preston appeared on the reality television show in the UK in January 2006, which subsequently caused the sales of the band's albums to soar beyond that of their exclusively online franchise; forcing there to be physical copies of "Boys Will Be Boys" released on compact disc; making the single rise from position 33 to 3 in four weeks. Despite the increase in sales, the band has always been backed by loyal followers, naming themselves "The Ordinary Army".Their most notable single release to date has been "Boys Will Be Boys". Despite approval from Ranking Junior, son of Ranking Roger of The Beat, the band has been criticised for their lack of originality owing to similarities in style with those who they claim influence from, such as The Jam, The Ramones and The Clash. Such views have been encouraged because the band and their albums are named after phrases coined by other bands.Despite such criticisms, the band has made a reputation for themselves amongst fans, and have had several original creations; from "Maybe Someday", "Talk Talk Talk", and "Seaside" on their debut album, to "Boys Will Be Boys" as their latest release, and "Over the Counter Culture", which was featured in the soundtrack for Burnout 3: Takedown./

Undying Love
Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart as Edward and Bella in "Twilight." Bella Swan, the perfectly ordinary heroine of Stephenie Meyer's "Twilight Saga" phenomenon and the object of my seething jealousy, is just like every other ingénue with daddy issues – she likes bad boys … for all the right reasons. But, as evidenced by the obsessive fan base for the "Twilight" series, which ranges ...

Holy Name second-graders overjoyed by package from Afghanistan
From the dusty streets of Afghanistan to the well-lit aisles of Sandy Fleming's second-grade classroom at Holy Name School, it turns out that ordinary handkerchiefs can be many, many things. To U.S. Navy Lt. Randall Scott, the camouflaged handkerchiefs that bear the words of the 91st Psalm are likely used to wipe away dirt and sweat as he soldiers on in the country known as the home of the ...

Young, black and British: The young men who refuse to bow to the stereotypes
Lewis Hamilton recently became the world motor-racing champ and the nation rejoiced. What an inspiration they said, the youngest man to win Formula 1. And a black man at that. (In truth he is "mixed race", like Barack Obama. But for many it's a specious distinction. Black pride holds the two men aloft, it lays claim to them.) It is a rare moment of affirmation for men and boys who racially ...

Review: 'Twilight' captures action, perfectly imperfect teen romance
Squeals, claps and giggles burst out from the audience of the Thursday midnight premiere of "Twilight" at the west-side Warren Theatre. The moment many teenage girls (and assorted moms and boys) had anticipated had arrived: Hearthrob vampire Edward Cullen graced the big screen for the first time. Based on the New York Times best-seller by Stephenie Meyer, "Twilight" centers on the ...
