Rosie Ledet is a Creole Zydeco vocalist and accordion player. She was born Mary Rosezla Bellard in the small town of Church Point, Acadia Parish, Louisiana. One account regarding the start of her musical career relates that after her husband would leave for work, she would sneak out his accordion, and learn a song. The story continues that when he heard her play, he stepped aside, allowing her the spotlight, and became her accompanist on the bass guitar.She is a young female zydeco accordion player famous in the genre for her sultry and suggestive lyrics.
