The Country is a private, gated community located in the hills of Diamond Bar, California. Since its initial development in 1970, The Country has quickly grown to include over 800 multi-million dollar homes. With a total area of 3.5 square miles, many parts of The Country still remain undeveloped. The Country features many amenities that are characteristic of other prestigious gated communities today which include a heated swimming pool, tennis courts, a clubhouse, and security guards. In addition, The Country offers an equestrian club for residents who wish to house their horses. For the more adventurous resident, The Country offers walking trails and a 134 acre nature park that is abundant with natural wildlife and a natural stream.Crystal RidgeLocated within The Country is an additional private community called Crystal Ridge. Crystal Ridge is a relatively new development as can be witnessed through the constant construction abound and the modern but classically influenced homes. The Crystal Ridge community does not have the white fencing that is found in The Country.SecurityUnlike many gated communities with automated gates, The Country features a 24-hour manned gate with security guards. In addition, security guards regularly patrol the whole of the community in specially equipped Crown Victorias that recently replaced the outdated Ford Rangers. In addition to patrolling the community, security guards also regularly cite residents and visitors alike for traffic infractions. Because of the secluded nature of the community, speeding has been an ongoing problem within the gates. In an attempt to deter this, the association has installed removable speed bumps and speeding tickets to those who do not follow the posted speed limit. However, these actions have been met with mixed success as many drivers have attempted to outrun the security guards and drive around the speed bumps.Notable Resident
