Theater group to hold auditions VALLEY CENTER ---- Valley Center Community Theater will hold auditions for "Mr. Scrooge's Christmas (A Christmas Carol)" from 6:30-8 p.m. Sept. 30 at the Valley Center Library, 29200 Cole Grade Road. Roles are available for youths and adults. Callbacks will be from 6:30-8 p.m. Oct. 1 at the same location. Visit www.vcct.org.

NORTH BROOKFIELD - The Apple Run/Walk, a 5-mile Road Race/Walk through North Brookfield, begins at 9:30 a.m. for walkers and 10 a.m. for runners on Oct. 18. The race starts and finishes at Brookfield Apple Orchard, 12 Lincoln Road. An adult must accompany children running this course.
