Southern Farm Bureau Classic is a golf tournament on the PGA Tour. It is played annually in September in Madison, Mississippi. The tournament is held at the Annandale Golf Club.The 2006 purse is $3,000,000, with $540,000 going to the winner. The tournament was elevated as a PGA Tour event in 1986 as the Deposit Guaranty Golf Classic. It was previously played as the Magnolia Classic for much of the 1970s and early 1980s and had notable winners such as Roger Maltbie and Craig Stadler. This tournament is usually played opposite of a major or limited field tournament, so the strongest players rarely participate. Until 1994, it was played opposite to The Masters and then opposite the British Open in the mid-90s.
