Doves are a rock band from Manchester, England. The band is known for its large, epic sound, and has been compared with contemporaries such as Radiohead as well as classic Manchester bands such as The Stone Roses, New Order and The Smiths and experimental acts such as Talk Talk and Sigur Rós.The three members of Doves are brothers Jez Williams (b. February 18, 1970) (guitar) and Andy Williams (b. February 18, 1970) (drums and occasional vocals), and Jimi Goodwin (b. May 28, 1970) (vocals, bass, guitar and occasionally drums).//The three members met at school in Wilmslow when they were 15. They formed a Madchester-influenced dance collective called Sub Sub, which had moderate success in the early 1990s, including the hit single "Ain't No Love (Ain't No Use)", but the trio gradually moved in a more rock direction. This transition was hastened by the destruction of their studio in a fire in 1996....
