American Hi-Fi is a rock band from Boston, Massachusetts. To date, they have released three studio albums and one live album. Their debut album, released in 2001, was the self-titled American Hi-Fi. It spawned the radio hit "Flavor of the Weak", which reached the Top 50 charts in both the U.S. and the UK. In 2002, they then released a live album titled Rock N Roll Noodle Shop/Live in Tokyo Japan. Their second studio album, The Art of Losing, was later released in 2003, but it spawned only a minor single: the self-titled "The Art of Losing". They released a third studio album, called Hearts on Parade, in early 2005. The meaning of the band's name is American High Fidelity, meaning it is the closest type of music to describe the American style of life.During tours in 2004 and 2005, they opened for Butch Walker and also served as his backing band. The tour was titled "Clash of the Heavyweights". Since early spring of 2005, they have been on tour with Bowling for Soup, Riddlin' Kids and MC Lars. The band's original name was BMX Girl, until Bob Rock, the producer of American Hi-Fi insisted they change their band's name because it "sucked"./
